Global Radio has named former News Group Newspapers (NGN) deputy managing director Mike Gordon as its commercial chief.
The role was created following Global Radio's £375m takeover of GCap Media earlier this year.
Gordon, who left NGN earlier this year, will start his new role on 1 December. He will report to incoming chief executive Stephen Miron, formerly managing director of Associated Newspapers-owned Mail on Sunday and Mail Online. Miron also starts on 1 December.
Gordon will oversee five agency sales teams, one client sales team and one interactive sales team. He will take over from chief operating officer Don Thomson, who has been working in the role on a temporary basis.
