Lipstick Jungle snares 198,000

Living's Lipstick Jungle

Living's latest US drama Lipstick Jungle, from Sex and the City writer Candace Bushnell, made a solid but unspectacular start last night with an average audience of 198,000 (1.38%) at 10pm.

The hour-long debut episode managed to hit a high of 255,000 (1.50%) at the start.

The show managed to break the entertainment channel's slot average for the year so far of 107,000 (0.68%).

Lipstick Jungle then attracted a further 37,000 when it aired at 11pm on Living+1.

Making a stronger impression with viewers on Living was the return of America's Next Top Model for its tenth series. The hour-long show appealed to a strong 328,000 (1.65%) with further 88,000 preferring to watch an hour later on the timeshifted option.

The two Living shows particularly felt the heat from both ITV2 and Sky 1 as both channels broke the half a million mark.

Hell's Kitchen USA on ITV2 at 9pm managed 529,000 (2.66%) while just slightly further ahead in the same slot was Sky 1's Ross Kemp on Gangs which managed 532,000 (2.85%).

The Sky 1 show had a significant upturn in its fortunes from last week when just 356,000 (1.8%) watched.

Film 4 also charmed the viewers at 9pm with yet another showing of the action comedy Mr & Mrs Smith with 388,000 (2.42%) watching and a further 73,000 watching Film 4+1.
