Richard and Judy find a New Position

Watch's Richard and Judy's New Position

Watch's flagship original show Richard and Judy's New Position saw its audience last night grow to 53,000 (0.27% share) at 8pm, after a week of rapidly declining ratings.

The 60-minute show managed to hit a high of 56,000 (0.29%) at 8.30pm. A further 16,000 watched the show on Watch+1.

The weekday talk show launched last Tuesday (7 October) with a much healthier 100,000 (0.53%) but saw its audience plunge sharply over its subsequent outings. It hit a low on Monday (13 October) when just 32,000 (0.15%) tuned in and a further 10,000 on the timeshifted option.

While the talk show has regained some lost ground it still has some way to go to match its very first edition on the new digital channel.

Despite the boost in viewers Watch still trailed its closest rivals by some margin.

Sky 1's sci-fi series Stargate Atlantis continued to be a steady performer for the entertainment channel with 363,000 (1.85%). The channel's two hour documentary War on Knives, presented by Donal MacIntyre and June Sarpong, picked up 75,000 (0.44%) from 9pm.

Living, along with Sky 1 and Watch, isn't on Freeview and picked up 112,000 (0.57%) for a repeat of America's Next Top Model.

E4's permanent fixture of a double helping of Friends from 8pm gained 282,000 (1.48%) and 323,000 (1.61%). For the second night running E4 aired the 2003 remake of The Italian Job at 9pm and picked up 290,000 (1.75%).

Both ITV2 and BBC3 aired films last night. BBC3's Shanghai Knights at 7.10pm had 505,000 (2.63%) while Dante's Peak at 8pm on ITV2 scaled 400,000 (2.07%).

BBC4's strand of programming on maths continued at 8pm with High Anxieties: the Mathematics of Chaos on 193,000 (0.99%).
