Nick Jr's 'bedtime' slot has been given a boost this month as celebrities have been helping out with A Bedtime Story with Arnie and Barnie.
Since the pre-school channel launched its Once Upon a Bedtime strand, running between 6pm and 8pm, on 3 November, the broadcaster has seen its audience rise at this time by 23.4% to a children's (4 to 15-year-olds) share of 2.1% compared to the slot average for the year so far of 1.7%
The increase in viewers has seen Nick Jr rank alongside CBeebies with a similar 2.1%. So far in November, the corporation's pre-school channel has seen its audience share slip from a year-to-date average of 2.6%.
Nick Jr's 15-minute A Bedtime Story with Arnie and Barnie at 7.15pm has helped drive viewers to the channel. The first instalment of the current series, which saw former Spice Girl Geri Haliwell read a tale, averaged 158,000 (0.83%), the fifth most popular show on the channel this month. The show has also featured the likes of Donna Air, Duncan James and Gary Lucy all reading a different story with the puppets.
Animated series Super Why, also part of the Once Upon a Bedtime strand, in a 6.30pm slot has also proved to be popular this month with a sizeable 196,000 (1.1%)
