The University of Salford has partnered with Avid, securing four internships with the tech firm.

Four high-flying Salford students from its MediaCityUK facility and other faculties will be given three-to-six month placements across different digital media disciplines.

University of Salford’s director of MediaCityUK, Jon Corner, said: “This partnership is designed to help our students develop the highest levels of creative and technical skill that will allow world-leaders like Avid to cherry-pick University of Salford students, safe in the knowledge that they have an intimate understanding of such a demanding environment.”

Avid will provide financial support for accommodation and travel for students working with the company at Pinewood Studios.

Enterprise sales manager for Avid UK Dan Pell said the arrangement is a first for Avid.

He said: “For us, the prospect of working with some of the brightest students in the UK is fantastic as they’ll bring a wealth of fresh ideas and insights to the company.”
