Brief Create the promo package for the BBC’s coverage of the Queen’s Baton Relay.

How it was done The animated 40-second promo follows the route the Queen’s Baton will take on its journey to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The roads travelled are revealed to have formed the ornate, metal latticework of the baton itself, which represents Glasgow’s proud industrial heritage.

Earth created each location, reflecting its essence in terms of landscape, texture, colour and light.

The sequence was built in Cinema 4D and After Effects, with some elements modelled in Maya. Texture and matte painting was completed in Photoshop.

Richard White was creative director, Sam Blain was lead designer and Bhavna Patel the producer.
