BBC Worldwide has appointed two new directors as part of its strategy to become a “completely digital” business.

Ben Blomfield will join BBCW as director of global operations and will manage the delivery of content to all regions and platforms.

The former ITV head of content management for broadcast operations will also oversee the review of technology platforms and service providers for digital asset management operations.

Robin Boldon, formerly of BBC Motion Gallery, has been appointed director of digital distribution and will work with Blomfield to develop strategy for digital distribution.

BBCW senior vice-president of global operations and digital distribution for sales and distribution Abigail Hughes said: “Ben’s and Robin’s experience will help us achieve our goal of becoming completely digital.”
