Blackmagic Design has released a “major” update for its Video Assist monitor and recorder that adds 3D LUTs to the 5-inch HD model and the 7-inch 4K device.

“This new update adds incredible LUT monitoring to both models and brings some of the same powerful highend features from the 7-inch Blackmagic Video Assist 4K model to customers who have the 5-inch model,” said Blackmagic Design chief executive Grant Petty.

Version 2.3 adds improved DNxHD and DNxHR support, false colour monitoring, expanded focus options and new screen rotation features to the 5-inch Video Assist.
