Blackmagic Design has released DaVinci Resolve 8, the latest version of its colour correction tool.

Updates include timeline support with editing and XML import and export for Final Cut Pro 7 and Premiere Pro.

Blackmagic said it will allow sequences to be imported, graded and exported back into Final Cut Pro 7 or Premiere Pro with graded shots and the layer structure intact.

Processing tools have been added for real time noise reduction, curve grading, advanced multi-point stabilisation as well as automatic stereoscopic 3D image alignment.

DaVinci Resolve 8 includes OpenCL processing to allow use on Apple iMac and MacBook Pro computers. It also supports Avid Artist Color, Tangent Wave and JL Copper control panels plus offers ALE export to relink graded DNxHD files back into Avid editors.

The software is available from £620 ($995) via Blackmagic Design resellers. Current Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 7 customers can download the update free of charge from the Blackmagic Design web site.
