What is it? Described as “the world’s greatest gathering in TV and media”, MIP is the venue for the international showcase of TV in all its forms, say organisers. Last year saw 12,000 key decision makers from 100 countries meet 4,000 buyers and 1,500 exhibiting companies in the south of France.

  • NAB Show

What is it? Attended by some 90,000 industry professionals, last year’s show saw a keynote delivered by director and 3D pioneer James Cameron. The 2012 show will include talks on broadcast management and strategy and new media for multiple platforms.

What is it? The 132nd AES convention is the first to take place in Budapest.  AES Conventions are held annually in the United States and Europe and claim to be the largest gatherings of audio professionals in the world.

  • Conch Awards

What is it? The awards honour the work of audio post production work across TV, film and commercials. Broadcast industry trade show BVE, with support from facilities trade body UK Screen Association, is now producing the Conch Awards, which will take place at The Mayfair Hotel.

There is a new award for Sound Design and Editorial Team while the Fellowship Award has been replaced by Outstanding Contribution of the Year. Other categories include TV Dubbing Mixer of the Year, TV Mix Facility of the Year and Most Promising Newcomer.
