Molinare has appointed George Cook to the role of head of IT.

The former global head of engineering at Smoke & Mirrors will lead Molinare’s team of IT engineers in support of all the business and post production systems across the Molinare group of companies.

Molinare chief technology officer Richard Wilding said: “I know George very well, having worked with him in the past on collaborative industry R&D projects and I am extremely pleased to welcome him to the company.

“I am sure that George will prove to be a great asset to the technology department and to Molinare as we continue to expand and drive forward in emerging post production technologies.”

Molinare said Cook and the IT team will work with chief engineer Roy Walker and the facility’s engineering team as the company “rises to the challenge of the increase in demand for high end workflows for feature film and television”.

Cook’s experience includes Autodesk Flame and Dell EMC Isilon systems which Molinare recently installed as part of its 4K and UHD post production pipelines.

Cook added: “I’m delighted to join such a prestigious company. Molinare has a fantastic reputation for excellent quality work, being a great workplace and is known as a technical leader in post-production.

“I look forward to making a valuable contribution alongside the team.”
