Former Crow TV managing director Max McGonigal has resurfaced as managing director of Clear Cut Pictures.

McGonigal, who is Clear Cut’s third managing director in just over three-and-a-half years, replaces Scott Holmgren, who left in June.

McGonigal is due to take the reins next month. “My priorities will be sales, quality of service and making sure we have the right staff to service those needs,” McGonigal said.

“But the biggest thing for me is making sure the company runs as efficiently as possible. “I want to make sure that we provide the best quality of service at all three sites.

“The priority is to make sure Bloomsbury is the quality facility we want it to be.”

Clear Cut has 60 cutting rooms, 10 online suites, 10 dubbing theatres and three grading suites across its three London sites in Shepherd’s Bush, Newman Street and Bloomsbury – the latter of which it acquired in March.

Clear Cut chief executive Horacio Queiro said: “We want to do more and I know Max is the right person to take us there.

“We are in agreement about the direction of Clear Cut and what the future holds for post.” McGonigal held the role of managing director at Crow for three years before stepping down in July.

Prior to joining Crow, he worked in programming and international reversioning for Discovery Communications.

McGonigal will be reunited with former head of production at Crow TV Piera Cuttica, who joined Clear Cut as business development manager at the end of last month. Crow TV is in the process of recruiting a new managing director.
