Directors Cut, which recently completed post on Melvyn Bragg On Class And Culture, has taken over another floor in its Great Portland Street building.

The additional space will house an extra eight edit suites.

All 14 of the facility’s offline suites have Avid Media Composer version 6 and the Symphony Nitris Dx online suites will feature the new Avid Artist grading panels.

The new suites will be connected via a new Avid ISIS storage server which will also connect with the post house’s Nucoda Film Master grading suite and its two Pro Tools audio suites.

Directors Cut managing director Mark Manning said: “We want to offer clients a relaxed and welcoming environment with the best facilities that ensure productions are finished to the highest quality possible.

“With 14 offline suites now available at our central London offices, we have doubled our capacity for output by delivering an efficient workflow solution without bottlenecks. This ensures our clients spend time on the editing process without delays or issues with technology”.

Directors Cut said the new suites will allow it to manage the increasing demands of larger series alongside standalone shows.

Sales and marketing director Natalie Bayford said: “The extra space will accommodate longer projects as many clients now want three suites at a time.”

New projects booked include The Sky South Bank Show, two series from Spun Gold TV and several documentaries from Wild Pictures.

Directors Cut worked with systems integrators Absolute Cad on the expansion.
