Brief Grade the 75-minute special, which features the current Doctor, Matt Smith, as well as his predecessor David Tennant and companions Billie Piper and Jenna-Louise Coleman.

How it was done Working on custom software, colourist Mick Vincent graded on Baselight with Filmlight’s engineers working alongside him, making live changes to the system as they progressed through the grade.

The software featured convergence control that automatically allowed the left and right eye grades to be aligned and previewed in 3D.

The process took 10 days to complete with a complicated conform followed by the grade and then a 3D depth, which was completed with a stereographer.

In total, Vincent worked on almost 2,000 shots.
