Brief Complete a High Dynamic Range (HDR) colour grade on a 6 x 30-minute comedy series about a ‘dry-witted, sexual, angry, porn-watching, grief-riddled woman trying to make sense of the world’.

How it was done Director of photography Tony Miller BSC shot the series on the Arri Alexa using anamorphic lenses.

For the grade, Thomas Urbye made use of a natural palette, emphasising skin tones and giving it a cinematic feel. Thanks to the HDR aspect, the highlights remained unclipped and provided additional detail out of windows and across all the highlights, bringing the images to life.

Two sets of deliverables were created: 4K HDR for Amazon and DPP files for the BBC. The online editor was Mark Maltby. The post producer was Dan Marbrook.
