Foley mixer Paul Carr has come out of retirement to set up a Foley studio at London post facility Goldcrest.

Carr, who retired in 2009 after 26 years at Goldcrest, oversaw the first internal Foley work for Eternal Law, which is currently being mixed at Goldcrest by Adrian Rhodes.

Carr, who was reunited with his favourite old leather bag he bought in Egypt - his favourite prop for leather creaks, squeaks and moves - said he was pleased to pass on his experience to aspiring foley editor Jules Pirrie.

“I’m too old for secrets. If you don’t pass them on, where’s the pleasure?”
