Former Aurora Lighting Hire managing director Nick Edwards has launched a lighting rental business specialising in supplying moving lights and LED panels for use on light entertainment and studio shows.

The independent boutique, called Version 2, offers both wet and dry hire services using a pool of freelance talent.

Former Aurora project manager Sam Crook has taken up the role of technical director.

Edwards left Aurora in 2015 following its sale to US-based rental company VER. He has partly self-funded Version 2, with the rest of the equipment leased using asset fi nance from Azule.

Despite launching into a saturated market, Edwards is confident that his approach will prove successful. He said: “We will do one thing and do it well.

“We will provide excellent support, great quality lighting kit and a personal service.”

Version 2’s first broadcast project is Love Productions’ The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice (pictured).
