Imagen has appointed former Diligent managing director Charlie Horrell as its new chief executive, replacing Tom Blake who becomes commercial director.

Blake, who has been in charge for six years, will step down in order to take on a more “hands on” role but will continue to provide “strategic guidance”, the company said.

Horrell was Diligent chief in 2016 when the company was sold to private equity firm Insight Venture Partners for $625m (£483m). He has also worked at Technicolor’s set-top box division as chief operating officer and was chief executive of PacketVision for more than five years.

Horrell said, “So many companies are struggling to streamline their video management operations and make more of their assets. Imagen is the must-have service to help them enhance their business communications.“

Imagen develops software-as-a-service video management products. The English Premier League, ATP Media, Endemol, the British Film Institute and IMG are among its customers.
