Gearhouse Broadcast has built a temporary facility in Rio for the South African Broadcasting Corporation’s (SABC) coverage of the Olympics.

The set-up includes three post-production areas - technical, EVS and editing - and facilities for newsgathering.

Pictures and sound captured from four Sony PDW-700 ENG kits is being ingested and then cut on Final Cut Pro before being exported to an EVS XT3 server and sent back to South Africa for broadcast.

The news facilities include additional ENG kits and a standalone edit suite. Three temporary voiceover suites are also available.
