Former Molinare chief operating officer Scott Holmgren has resurfaced at Clear Cut Pictures.

Holmgren, who quit Molinare in March, is to take on the role of managing director at the West London post firm.

Current managing director Paul Austin, who joined Clear Cut in April last year, will remain with the post firm until early September, when he will move to a new, yet-to-be announced role.

Holmgren will take over on 26 August.

Clear Cut chief executive Horacio Queiro said Holmgren would bring “a wealth of technical and operational knowledge to the role”.

“The future of post-production will belong to the most sophisticated and efficient facilities, and Scott’s extraordinary technical expertise will be a real asset to us.

“If there is a bug in any of the products we use, Scott can even write code to fix it on the train on the way to work the next morning.”

He added: “With the recent opening of our West End office (pictured), we have uncovered a real hunger for what Clear Cut can deliver.

“We are winning work over other facilities because of our innovative workflows and technologies, and Scott will be able to take us to the next level of our ambitions for the business.”

Holmgren joined Molinare as technical director in 2008. He was appointed chief operating officer of the Soho facility in January last year, when he also took on the responsibilities of managing director and chief executive.

He was previously head of operations at Pepper Post, a position he held for three years.
