A House of Lords committee has been tasked with examining the use of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the UK.

Earlier this week, several drone operators and developers were questioned by the EU Sub- Committee on the Internal Market, Infrastructure and Employment as part of its efforts to establish if smaller drones might need some form of licensing or registration to be used in the UK. UAVs are becoming an increasingly popular TV production tool, with series such as ITV’s Secrets From The Sky and Sky’s upcoming Conquest Of The Skies using them to capture aerial footage.
