Brief Picture and audio post-production on the 3 x 60-minute factual series in which writer and Newsnight arts correspondent Stephen Smith finds out what it takes to survive and prosper in the most artistic, decadent and dangerous royal courts in history.

How it was done Colourist Colin Peters graded the first two episodes of the series using Nucoda Film Master.

His brief was to create a rich and naturalistic environment, using vignettes and grads to complement the stunning cityscapes and landscapes.

Peters highlighted the richness of the artworks, further emphasising the beauty of the work of the painters, sculptors, poets, tailors and weavers that feature in the programme.

Final post of the first episode was completed at Air Post and graded by colourist Chris Teeder.

The Farm dubbing mixer Nick Fry mixed the audio with Pro Tools 10. Online editor Tam Osman finished the first two episodes with Avid Symphony.
