Brief VFX for the film by Lotje Sodderland, David Lynch and director Sophie Robinson about Sodderland in the weeks after she woke from an induced coma following a stroke.
How it was done Outpost created more than 110 shots that were used to support the representation of Sodderland’s vision of the world. The team developed two different looks: one that was colourful, timeless and surreal, for the point of view after the stroke; another that was nightmarish, ghostly and scary, for the POV after the seizure. Both looks were applied across several shots to recreate Sodderland’s right eyesight. Most shots had surreal elements, such as melting clocks, metamorphosis in the shadows, drawings that come to life, warpings and deformed faces. It was supervised by Elena Estevez Santos.
