BVE 2017: An online subtitling application developed by three subtitling technology firms will be launched at BVE in February.

The browser-based, subtitle creation and preparation tool is the result of a partnership between Ooona, Screen and Cavena that was announced at last year’s NAB trade show in Las Vegas.  

The partnership follows Screen and Cavena’s contributions to the Ooona online Subtitling Toolkit.

The application from the three companies aims to make it easier for subtitlers and translators to quickly create and prepare subtitle files via the internet without the need to download any software.

Ooona, Cavena and Screen highlighted the flexibility of the user interface and said that drag-and-drop  functionality is “at the heart of the GUI enabling the user to place any element of the working screen where they want”.
