IBC 2015: PlayBox Technology will launch the full production version of its browser-based SocialMediaBox application.

Available as a standalone system or integrated with the company’s TitleBox channel branding system, SocialMediaBox allows comments from multiple web sites or social network feeds to be processed into a single ready-for-broadcast stream.

PlayBox Technology managing partner and director of sales Don Ash said: “SocialMediaBox gives broadcasters the ability to select and moderate comments and images from a variety of different internet sources, integrating these into a single feed to supplement a live programme.

“Data can be combined into an RSS feed and forwarded downstream to other devices or sent to a character generator such as TitleBox for viewing as an integral part of the programme output.

“This forms a highly efficient basis for the creation of auxiliary-screen pages for viewer feedback.”

SocialMediaBox is controlled using a standard web browser.

Operators can view preconfigured feeds from a range of sources and drag and drop posts to a customised list.

Comments in the customised feed can then be edited, checked against a profanity word list and published immediately or floated until approved for publishing.
