The Acton-based equipment dealer ProKit has been forced to close after 28 years of trading.

Administrators Matt Waghorn and Lawrence King of Wilkins Kennedy were appointed before Christmas.

The company’s assets have now been sold to an un-named buyer from within the TV industry.

Founded by the husband and wife team of Mark and Sue Holmes in 1989, ProKit sold camera, lighting and sound kit from the likes of Canon, Sony and Blackmagic.

Following the closure, Tiffen International has announced that it has taken back the distribution of Lowel lighting in the UK.
