Freelance news and current affairs cameramen and women from Belarus, Egypt, Libya, the UK and USA are among the finalists of this year’s Rory Peck Awards.
Director of the Rory Peck Trust Tina Carr said it had been “an extraordinary year for news.”
She said: “We are always impressed by the high quality of work that is submitted each year, but this time the standard has been exceptional and the judges had an extremely difficult job.”
The winners will be announced at 7.30pm on Wednesday 16 November 2011 at London’s BFI Southbank at a ceremony hosted by the BBC’s Mishal Husain and Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News.
