The Media Production Show will draw together a host of craft-focussed companies, with exhibitors from the worlds of special effects, post production, studios and aerial photography set to reveal new products and services at the show. 

The inaugural event, which will take place at The Business Design Centre in Islington, will showcase how craft companies from across Europe support the creative industries.

Highlights from the craft exhibitors at the show include Artem, which for almost 30 years has designed and produced physical special effects for film, television, commercials and live events, including models, miniatures, prosthetics, sculpture, animatronics, atmospherics, bespoke props and pyrotechnics.

Aerial filming company Flying TV will showcase its new helicopter gimbal, the GSS C516 equipped with a Red Weapon camera. The Denham-based company will also show off its new UAV, the Freely Alta 8 which can also be paired with a Red Weapon.

The Pinewood Studios Group will be on the show floor to talk about its 36 Stages at its Pinewood, Shepperton and Pinewood Studios Wales sites, as well as its underwater stage and exterior water tank, three dedicated TV studios, post production and digital content services and production services including creative services, 3D printing and lighting.

With the Pinewood brand now exported to studios in Toronto, Atlanta, Iskandar in Malaysia and the Dominican Republic they can also help with international productions.

Rome-based dubbing and audio post facility SoundArt will reveal details of its new mixing studios. The new set-up features AMS-Neve consoles, BSS 806 processing and Avid S6 consoles.

Meanwhile, fellow Italian facility Cinecittà Studios, which has three sites in and around Rome, in addition to a new studio in Morocco providing a total of 30 stages and 300 acres of diversified back lots, will be on hand to discuss its offering. It will highlight the country’s new tax incentives, regional film funds and VAT exemptions.

AED Studios, the Antwerp, Belgium-based media complex that offers studio space and hire equipment will showcase its range of services for productions.

Another facility that will be in attendance at the Media Production Show is Bentwaters Parks, a 2,000 acre former airfield in Suffolk which can be used for set builds, car chases and shoots on a large scale. The business is planning to build a sound stage with more production offices and workshop space. Bruizer, a creative film and video production company based at Bentwaters Parks, will also exhibit at the show.

Scenery and props maker Footprint will be able to explain more about one of its latest projects. Titled ‘blackbox’, it is described as “a workspace that enables artists, designers, engineers and creative industries to create immersive environments and interactive spaces”. Footprint is also working with London South Bank University to explore augmented and hybrid reality.

Seven Sunday Films is a film production house and support company located in Jakarta and Bali, Indonesia. This specialist post house can talk visitors to the show through their facilities and showcase some of the productions they have been involved in.

New to exhibiting is Light Film International. This production services company provide all-in-one solutions for any production requests, from initial planning, budgeting, location scouting, casting, managing permits and security, full equipment rental and post-production. They can also offer assistance with any animation, modelling, rendering and special effects.

Auditionist is a complete cloud-casting solution to search, screen, schedule, and pay professional actors.

On their booth they will demonstrate how to post a brief to receive dozens of video submissions from actors that meet a set of criteria. Features included in theirservice include show-reels, shortlisting and live auditioning.
