Post-production group The Farm is eyeing a deal to acquire west London facility Crow TV.

Broadcast understands that talks between the two companies are ongoing, with The Farm keen to add the Shepherd’s Bush-based business to its group.

Several sources have indicated that Crow has been up for sale for some time. One senior industry figure said the post company had been for sale for “several years”, while another post boss said they had been approached about a possible deal towards the end of last year.

Crow TV provides post production services, mainly for factual clients, from its offices in west London and Birmingham.

Its Shepherd’s Bush facility contains some 40 offline suites, five grading suites and five audio suites while the Birmingham operation has 13 offline and two finishing suites.

Crow’s list of clients includes Tiger Aspect, RDF, Darlow Smithson and Endemol.

The Farm recently began a round of recruitment as part of its growth strategy. It is looking for editors, technical operators and post producers to support its “grand expansion plans”.

As well as its Soho HQ and facilities in central London, the Farm operates a post facility at the Bottle Yard in Bristol to support Endemol’s long-running Channel 4 show Deal or No Deal.

The Farm also has a contract with the BBC to provide technical and operational services for the broadcaster at its MediaCityUK base in Salford.

In 2011, it entered the US post market with the acquisition of Hollywood-based picture post facility Editgods.

The Farm works across a range of genres, including drama, factual, light entertainment and comedy and sport. Its recent credits include Indian Summers, Bitter Lake, The X Factor and Ross Kemp: Extreme World.
