Brief Post-production of the 10-part series following wildlife expert Saba Douglas-Hamilton as she runs a safari camp in Kenya’s Samburu National Reserve.

How it was done Shot mainly on XDCam, the series was offlined at Big Bang on Avid Media Composer using Isis 5500 shared storage. Tim Bolt used Baselight to evoke the rich splendour of Africa. The online was completed on Avid Symphony using a Baselight/Avid AAF workflow. Ben Wood and Harry Hills created the sound design using Pro Tools 11, while senior dubbing mixers Matt Coster and Pete Howell used Neve consoles. Due to the ‘diary’ nature of the show, Izotope RX4 noise reduction was used on the location sound. Sound effects such as bird calls were added, while Foley helped to create a more immersive sound experience.

Watch it Mondays and Tuesdays, 7pm, BBC2
