An anonymous buyer has been lined up to take over troubled facility Twickenham Studios.

The film and TV facility was placed in administration in February, prompting leading figures from across the creative industries to mount a campaign to save the studios.

Earlier this week it was revealed a potential buyer was keen to take over the facility and continue to operate it as a TV and film studio.

Campaigners were concerned that the site would be sold for re-development.

Twickenham Studios said that on Tuesday an anonymous buyer paid a non-returnable deposit of £100,000 to for a four-week exclusivity period.

It is hoped that during this period an exchange of contracts will take place.

The studio opened in 1913. Recent productions shot at Twickenham include So TV’s Sorry I’ve Got No Head (pictured) for CBBC and Big Talk Production’s Him & Her for BBC3.
