Fabric Software will launch Fabric Engine 2 at Siggraph in Los Angeles this week.

The second generation of the digital content creation platform features the Canvas visual programming system that was previewed earlier this year, as well as integration with Pixar’s RenderMan and The Foundry’s Modo.

Fabric Engine enables the building of tools and applications for VFX, games, VR and visualisation without extensive programming knowledge.

The software features a visual programming system with an execution engine that handles complex tasks like multithreading and GPU computing.

Double Negative, MPC, Hybride and Psyop are currently using Fabric Engine in production and will demonstrate how Fabric fits into their workflow at Siggraph.

Fabric Software expects to release Fabric Engine 2 widely in September.
