Salmon lines up six-parters
BBC 1 controller Peter Salmon has ordered two 6 x 30-minute comedy series through BBC Scotland, writes Tara Conlan. The first is Head On Comedy, a debating quiz produced by indie Assembly TV, which will be presented by Jo Brand and is due to air in July.

Assembly TV chief executive William Burdett-Coutts is executive producing with BBC Scotland head of arts and entertainment Mike Bolland. Series producing duties will be taken by Patricia McGowan, while Pati Marr directs.

The second commission is a compilation of the first two series of BBC Scotland sketch show Chewin the Fat, starring Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill and produced by indie The Comedy Unit.
