Do you offer formal training?
We have introduced company-wide production workshops, where experienced team members break down elements of their roles on previous productions and, through presentations, explain why they did what they did.
The aim of these workshops is to keep a flow of information and knowledge between senior members of staff and the entire company, irrespective of level.
How do you ensure you have a motivated workforce, especially after failures?
We have created a supportive environment, so when there are failures, all levels of the company will gather around those affected. We look at what went wrong, understand the whys and then move on.
Keeping the workplace motivated is relatively easy, as we are fortunate to have an incredible number of exciting projects in development or in production at any one time.
How do you achieve a diverse workforce?
We openly recruit from multiple sources and have built good relationships with several universities. We have also engaged with a network that aims to increase the representation of minority groups in the sports media.
We offer Skype interviews, so candidates don’t need to incur travel expenses, and started a scheme that offers financial support towards relocation. We are also working with an agency that specialises in diversity.
What would make your company more attractive for staff and how will you achieve this in 2020?
We are moving to an open-plan office in the new year so the entire company can sit together on one floor. We are also installing state-of-the-art technology to ensure our employees have everything they need to perform their roles to the best of their ability.
