Fox One strikes Prime Video pact

Nascent streamer Fox One has struck a deal with Amazon that will see the service become available via Prime Video in the US.

Fox One costs $19.99 a month and provides access to all content from Fox brands, ranging from animations such as Family Guy and Krapopolis, to local news coverage.

It will also include access to NFL’s Thursday Night Football, as well as NASCAR motor racing and basketball matches from the NBA. Fox One was formally launched Stateside on Thursday.

 

Keshet Int’l format lands in Latvia 

TV3 Group in Latvia is remaking Keshet International’s comedy format Traffic Light (Ramzor).

Currently in production by SIA Seriālu mājas (Kolektīvs) under the local title Luksofors, the first 57-part season will premiere on TV3 from 1 September, with a second 61-part season already confirmed.

The format was originally created by Adir Miller for Keshet Broadcasting and Endemol Israel. The situation comedy tracks three lifelong friends navigating the complex realities of adulthood.

 

Wrestlers revived after Netflix axe

Netflix docuseries Wrestlers is being revived by producers after being dropped by the streamer, with a follow-up to the show in the works.

Filming is set to begin on the new episodes, which pulled back the curtain on life at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). Netflix dropped the show after moving its attention to WWE.

OVW’s Al Snow confirmed a new docuseries is officially underway. Few other details were revealed, but the original show was directed by Greg Whiteley and produced by BBC Studios in LA.

 

Netflix triumphs at Edinburgh TV Awards

Netflix dominated last night’s Edinburgh TV Awards in the UK, topping off an array of wins for content and performances with streamer of the year, while 5 was named channel of the year.

The US giant’s runaway hit Adolescence (Warp Films) claimed best Drama, while its star Owen Cooper won Breakthrough Performance and Jessica Gunning was named Best TV Actor – Drama for her role in Clerkenwell Films’ Baby Reindeer.

Netflix also snagged TV moment – chosen by the public – for the Bridgerton carriage scene. Read more
