Korea’s Bloody Game heads Netherlands

RTL’s Videoland in the Netherlands has ordered a local version of South Korean survival reality format, Bloody Game.

The show was created by Korea’s MBC and is being produced by EndemolShine Nederland, part of Banijay Benelux.

The adaptation, known locally as Vals Spel, marks the fifth adaptation by a Banijay Entertainment label since its debut in South Korea.

Bloody Game sees contestants cut off from the outside world and required to outlast their rivals, withstanding physical and mental challenges while forging strategic alliances.

 

C4 orders Plimsoll doc

Plimsoll Productions is looking at the UK’s dependence on long-term prescribed medication in a single doc for Channel 4.

Hour-long Live Well with the Drug Free Doctor is presented by author Dr Rangan Chatterjee who will meet three Brits who were all on long-term costly prescriptions but sought new ways to manage their medical disorders – type 2 diabetes, chronic pain and depression – by other means.

Live Well with the Drug Free Doctor was commissioned by Clemency Green, senior commissioning editor, with Jo Street, director of commissioning, nations and regions and head of lifestyle. It is exec produced by Karen Plumb and Andrea Jackson, with Rory Jackson directing. ITV Studios will handle international distribution.

 

Werewolves to continue in Germany

Germany’s ARD Mediathek has ordered a second season of Dreamspark’s Werewolves.

The reality format was commissioned by regional broadcasters including the BR, SWR, and WDR, with Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) leading the project for ARD Mediathek. It was produced by ITV Studios Germany and broadcast in September 2025.

The show is adapted from the cult board game, Les Loups-garous de Thiercelieux, created by Philippe des Pallières & Hervé Marly, and published by Asmodee.

The psychological thriller format unfolds in real-time and requires villagers to unmask werewolves to secure a cash prize. It was created and produced by Fary and Panayotis Pascot (Presque Prod) & Arnaud Chautard (JAAD Productions).
