Amazon’s Levy makes first unscripted additions
Amazon’s recently installed unscripted chief Jenn Levy has made former Netflix and Disney execs the first additions to her team since arriving at the company in January.
Tiffany Faigus, previously senior vice president of unscripted at ABC Entertainment and Disney, becomes senior creative exec at Amazon.
She joins Ariane Wu in Amazon’s LA office, having been with Netflix for almost a decade. Both report to Levy.
The news, first reported by US trade Deadline, comes three months after fellow Netflix alum Levy reunited with Peter Friedlander, who left the global streamer to join Amazon last year.
ITV tees up UK version of Holey Moley
ITV in the UK has ordered a four-episode local version of extreme crazy golf format Holey Moley, with Ant & Dec set to host.
The comedy entertainment format, which is outside the US by Fremantle, is being co-produced by the produciton giant’s label TalkbackThames and the presenting pair’s Mitre Studios.
Fremantle is currently building a global Holey Moley production hub for the format in Portimão, Portugal. Fremantle has global production and distribution rights for the format outside of the US, where Holey Moley debuted on ABC. It was created by Fremantle-owned Eureka Productions.
The format sees contestants tackling a course filled with obstacles and physical challenges as they seek to land the green jacket, while dodging spinning windmills, exploding obstacles and surprise hazards. Read more
Fox extends Fear Factor: House of Fear
Fox has renewed reality competition series Fear Factor: House of Fear, hosted by Johnny Knoxville, for a second season.
Set in an unforgiving remote location, Fear Factor: House of Fear features a group of strangers who live together under one roof while facing stunts and harrowing challenges.
They must also form bonds with fellow contestants in a bid to avoid being voted off the show, with a grand prize available to the winner.
The show is described as a “reimagined” version of the original Fear Factor, which has 32 adaptations worldwide. Banijay owns the original format and produces Fox’s version, via Endemol Shine North America.
