Showtime, CBC Gem claim Reunion
Paramount+ with Showtime and CBC Gem in Canada have picked up BBC drama Reunion, from Adolescence producer Warp Films.
The show, which will premiere on the services from 12 September, was created by William Mager and stars Matthew Gurney as a deaf man struggling to integrate back into society after ten years in prison.
The 5 x 45-minute show is directed by Luke Snellin (One Day) who also acts as executive producer, with Helen Ostler (The Last Kingdom) as producer, and Siobhan Morgan (Waterloo Road) as associate producer. Mark Herbert (Adolescence) and Gwen Gorst (Unforgotten) are executive producers for Warp Films, alongside Mager, with Rebecca Ferguson and Jo McClellan for the BBC. BBC Studios handles global sales.
Sony hires Warner Media, C4 alum
Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has appointed Nick Toon as vice-president of public policy and external affairs, UK, Broadcast can reveal.
Toon is the former vice-president of public policy for Europe at Warner Media, the former director of corporate relations at Channel 4 and before that was controller of public affairs at ITV.
He will take on the newly created position to cement SPE’s commitment to strategic policy engagement and investment in advocacy and industry collaboration. He will be based in the company’s London office, supporting engagement with government, regulators and key industry stakeholders. Read more
Former YouTube exec joins ODMedia
European aggregation company ODMedia has named Marijn Poeschmann as its chief commercial officer.
Poeschmann will lead ODMedia’s global commercial strategy, drive growth across business lines, and implement “scalable structures” to support international expansion, the company said.
Poeschmann joined ODMedia in early 2025 as head of sales having spent a decade at YouTube, most recently as country manager for the Benelux.
Before that she held roles at Google, Russell Reynolds, and AlpInvest Partners.
