Landman drills into S3
Paramount+ has extended Taylor Sheridan’s oil industry drama Landman into a third season.
The show’s second run, co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, has been a ratings hit for Paramount+ and stars Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter and Sam Elliott.
It is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions. Sheridan is departing Paramount for NBC Universal at the end of 2028.
ZDFS strikes deal for Troy docuseries
Impossible Factual’s Troy to be sold by ZDFS
Germany’s ZDF Studios has secured international distribution rights for the two-part docuseries Troy: The Schliemann Legacy.
The show was produced by UK-based Impossible Factual and co-produced by ZDF and Arte.
Troy marks 150 years since Heinrich Schliemann claimed to have discovered the legendary city, with the series applying modern scientific techniques to age-old questions about Homer’s epics and the collapse of the Bronze Age world.
Platonic gets Apple TV extension
Apple has extended Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne-led comedy Platonic into a third season.
The show was co-created by Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, with Sony Pictures Television producing along Stoller Global Solutions and Point Grey Pictures.
Platonic follows a platonic pair of former best friends approaching midlife (Rogen and Byrne) who reconnect after a long rift.
