MTV Finland to return big Brother
Banijay Entertainment’s Big Brother is returning to screens in Finland following a four-year hiatus.
The format is being produced by Banijay Finland, with a daily highlights show, a 24/7 livestream, and weekly live eviction broadcasts in the works.
The show, which was last broadcast in Finland by Nelonen in 2022, will debut on MTV later in the fall.
Local iterations of the the veteran format were broadcast in 27 countries in 2025.
Media consumption hits 11 hours in UK & US
Consumers in the UK and US now spend almost 11 cumulative hours a day consuming media, according to Ampere Analysis.
The company’s Attention Economy study unveiled today revealed that streaming services (1hr57), social media (1hr46), and YouTube (1hr35) attract the highest levels of daily media engagement.
The average American and British adult is also increasingly overlapping activities, such as using a phone while watching TV or streaming.
The analyst firm also found that consumers build their media diets around different moods and needs. Streaming services are most often used for relaxation and immersion, YouTube for discovery and lifting users’ mood, while social media is used to relieve boredom or provide distraction.
UK’s C4 sets contenty boss interviews
The hunt for Channel 4’s next content boss is entering its next phase, with the shortlist for final interviews set to be confirmed this week, Broadcast understands.
It is understood successful candidates will be contacted by C4 on Friday 7 August, with interviews to take place in due course.
Last month, Broadcast revealed C4 had appointed recruitment firm Ibison to lead the search for the director of programmes. Read more
