Live plane landing set for YouTube

Yorkshire-based factual indie Air TV will broadcast a live aeroplane landing for a YouTube programme which is believed to be a world first.

The programme is created in partnership with live IP-video company LiveU and will show audiences first-hand how to land an aeroplane, as it happens in real time at Air TV’s base in Leeds East Airport.

The 40-minute programme will give viewers insight into how to fly plane, with commentary from instructors from the Yorkshire Aviation Academy, It will play on Air TV’s YouTube channel First Landings.

The idea was born from a conversation between Air TV and LiveU at this year’s Media Technology and Production Show at Olympia, run by Broadcast’s Tech & Sport division.
