Silo to end on Apple TV

Apple TV is bringing the curtain down on Silo after its upcoming fourth run.

The final season, which will debut 9 July, is from creator Graham Yost and stars and executive produced by Rebecca Ferguson.

The drama is based on Hugh Howey’s trilogy and explores the saga of a dystopian society of 10,000 people living underground under mysterious circumstances.

Silo is produced by Apple Studios, with Yost, Michael Dinner, Nina Jack, Joanna Thapa, Ferguson, Morten Tyldum, Howey, Amber Templemore, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon and AMC Studios attached.

 

UK and Ukraine label unveils sex education show 

Ukrainian showrunner Yuriy Dvizhon has unveiled a new London and Kyiv-based label, alongside its first series.

Dvizhon Studios is behind sex education show The First Time, which debuted on streamer Megogo on 1 September.

The five-part series was supported by British luxury brand Aspinal and sees a puppet - voiced by Anna Lev, the official Ukrainian voice of Bart Simpson - having candid conversations with co-host and local social media star Tumazar.

Visual identity and graphic design was by Seoul-based designer Will Lim, while guests include Oleksandr Teren, a Ukrainian war veteran and amputee who became the lead of the 13th season of Ukraine’s version of The Bachelor.

 

UK’s C4 review slated for this week

Channel 4 staff are expected to get a major update on the comprehensive review into the organisation’s operations this Wednesday, Broadcast understands.

An all-staff meeting will take place on 9 September, with details from the review expected to be relayed to C4’s employees.

Chief executive Priya Dogra launched the review in April to assess the PSB’s strategy, size and structure. Further details of what the update will entail are under wraps, but it is thought it could cover the shape of the workforce, including the make-up of the content and commissioning teams. The broadcaster’s staff stood at 1,276 according to the most recent annual report. Read more
