Anna Pigeon flies into S2

USA Network and Bell Media drama Anna Pigeon has landed a second season.

The show is based on Nevada Barr's novels and debuted as the number one new US cable scripted series premiere in 2026 for USA. It is produced by Cineflix and Seven24 Films.

Cineflix Rights handles sales outside the US and has struck deals with UKTV, Disney+ in Portugal and Pickbox in the Balkans, as well as SBS (Belgium), Canal+ (Czech Republic and Slovakia) and TET (Latvia).

 

Maigret lands at UKTV

UKTV has acquired the UK premiere rights to series one and two of the rebooted Maigret as part of a wider deal with Banijay Rights.

The classic French detective, created by Georges Simenon, is returning for 12 episodes across two runs and will be available on UKTV’s free streaming service U and its linear channel U&Drama. Playground Entertainment produces.

The Maigret acquisition is one title from a wider 114-hour content deal with Banijay Rights which also includes the territory premiere of the second 12-part series of A Remarkable Place to Die, produced by Banijay Entertainment label Screentime New Zealand, in co-production with ZDF and Real Film Berlin.

The package also includes a factual and library titles such as Agatha & The Midnight Murders, Ambulance series 12 and 13, Lost and Found in the Lakes, Saving Lives at Sea series nine and 10, and Tribe with Bruce Parry. Read more

 

Ireland's RTÉ, Norway’s NRK & UK's 5 forge first copro

5’s Milkshake! has teamed up with RTÉ and Norway’s NRK for the first time to co-produce a pre-school series.

2D-animated series The Huggingtons follows the adventures of half-Viking, half-troll Liv and her family in the magical world of fjords, forests and wildlife in a 52-episode order.

The spirited five-year-old Liv throws herself into challenges with enthusiasm with support from her loving and eccentric family who can give a reassuring Huggingtons family hug.

The series is produced by Klipp Fiction and Kavaleer Productions and based on an original concept from Norwegian studio and IP owner Flipp Fiction. The series will be distributed worldwide by Epic Story Media.
