Bilibili, TVF land Stephen Fry for China docuseries
Bafta winner Stephen Fry is to narrate China’s Wild Secrets, which has been commissioned by local streamer Bilibili and has TVF International attached as coproducer.
The five-part series reveals the hidden lives of some of China’s most captivating and endangered wildlife species, and has been filmed over the course of three years.
TVF International has already pre-sold the series to German-French pubcaster WDR/Arte, alongside pan regional broadcaster Viasat World in Central & Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, and SRMG-owned Arabic-language platform Asharq Discovery for Middle-East and North Africa. Several other deals are in negotiation on the series, which will complete in July 2025 and be formally launched in October at MIPCOM.
Fry said the show would feature “perky little pikas to the imperious Siberian tiger and so much in between,” while Julian Chou-Lambert, exec producer and TVF’s China lead, added that the series would offer “unique artistic, environmental and dramatic qualities.”
Lat Am Content Meetings heads to São Paulo
Unscripted event Lat Am Content Meeting has confirmed São Paulo as the host city for its second edition, scheduled to take place 13-15 April, 2026.
The news was revealed at Sunny Side of the Doc, which is taking place in La Rochelle this week and which is an official partner of Lat Am Content Meeting. The French organisers will oversee pitching sessions for the Brazilian event.
Lat Am Content Meeting is focused exclusively on non-fiction content, including docs, factual and reality. Its first edition was held in March in Rio de Janeiro and attracted 700 professionals from 21 countries.
The event is being sponsored by the São Paulo City Hall and promotional body Spcine.
RTVE heads to Africa with Warner Bros.
RTVE in Spain has linked up with Warner Bros. International TV Production on a new show following a Spanish vet working in Africa.
Dr. Fabiola Jones is named after the vet in question and will explore her work with some of the continent’s biggest animals including rhinos, buffalo and elephants.
It is being produced by Warner Bros. International TV Production España y Portugal and expllores Jones’ commitment to the preservation of wild animals, with footage of her operating on animals and providing advice to other local veterinarians.
CEE broadcasters land Fox shows
Prentiss Fraser-led distributor Fox Entertainment Global has unveiled a raft of deals across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) as NATPE Budapest gets underway.
HRT Croatia has secured rights to Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner and Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints, which has a second season coming soon, while streamer Pickbox has picked up a pan-CEE package of films, as well as the popular scripted series The Chicken Sisters.
Poland’s Media4fun has renewed a multi-title package for undisclosed shows, while FEG said the Czech Republic’s FTV Prima had also acquired “a broad package” of films.
Foxtel expands Blue Ant deal
Canada’s Blue Ant Media has expanded its partnership with Foxtel in Australia with the launch of HauntTV and Love Pets as linear channels.
Blue Ant already provides natural history content to Foxtel via the NatureTime brand, but the new deal will see shows such as HauntTV’s Haunted Case Files and Love Pets’ The Bizarre Pet Vets become available.
