Germany’s Seven.One strikes TBS dance deal

Seven.One Studios International has closed a deal with TBS Television in Japan to re-develop the local entertainment format Match My Moves for the international market.

The concept, which was created as a segment in a Japanese primetime show, sees contestants having to perfectly copy dance routines in a short space of time.

The newly developed version sees four teams comprised of a celebrity team captain and four professional dancers competing through four rounds of matching-based challenges.

The format will be presented to buyers at Mipcom next month.

 

Blue Ant welcomes Passport Properties

Canada’s Blue Ant Studios has struck a deal to distribute Passport Properties, the Billy Nash-fronted docuseries that explores luxury property.

The nine-hour show, which has been created and produced by Nash, invites viewers into some of the world’s most magnificent homes and the communities that surround them.

Lila Hurst, Blue Ant’s outgoing global head of acquisitions, described the show as “the kind of premium lifestyle content buyers are craving: visually stunning, globally minded and anchored by an authentic and engaging host.” The show, which has not yet revealed a commissioner, will make its bow at Mipcom in October.

 

Great Pacific preps Netflix teen drama

Netflix has greenlit Canadian teen drama Crew Girl, with production starting in British Columbia.

The drama is from The Lake’s Vivian Lin and tracks the life of a 16-year-old female rower who becames a cox for an all-boys rowing team.

Thunderbird Entertainment’s Great Pacific Media is producing, with Lin attached as showrunner and exec producer alongside others including Geek Girl’s Jeff Norton.

 

Sony, Prime Video strike Australia pact

Amazon’s Prime Video and Sony Pictures Entertainment have agreed a multi-year streaming pact in Australia.

The pay-one window deal covers movies and provides Prime Video with exclusive access to titles including 28 Years Later and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Roadshow shows are also included, such as Conclave and Den of Thieves 2.
