TVF Int’l promotes trio in sales rejig 

UK-based TVF International has restructured its distribution team, with promotions to regional sales managers for Ben Nohr, Elina Ishkhanova and Alex Lindsay.

The rejig will see managing director, Poppy McAlister, heading up UK and Americas, while Nohr leads the Western Europe and MENA team.

Ishkhanova will manage Central and Eastern Europe and Africa, while Lindsay will oversee TVF International’s APAC team.

McAlister, who oversees a sales team of 10, said the restructure “will allow us to sharpen our focus on key markets in 2026 and continue to find new audiences for the outstanding factual programming in our catalogue.”

Movistar Plus+ names distribution chief 

Spain’s Movistar Plus+ has named Rebeca Aguilar as head of its international distribution operations.

Aguilar has been with the Telefónica-owned company since 2022, when Movistar Plus+ International was set up to sell original productions from its sibling streamer and pay-tv operation.

She will oversee a slate that includes dramas such as Los Sin Nombre and Querer, as well as docuseries including Ellas en la Ciudad.

Aguilar previously had stints at Caracol Televisión and Onza Distribution before joining Movistar Plus+.

Kudeta lands Discovery+ order

Jasleen Kaur Sethi and George Newman, a director/producer team whose credits include Discovery+ series The Last Party: Death on Tresco, have landed the first commission for their fledgling outfit Kudeta Films.

Kudeta (pronounced coup d’etat) is co-producing four-part series An American Serial Killer in Cairo (w/t) with Basement Films for Discovery+.

Sethi is a director and exec producer, who won a Bafta for her work on Flicker Productions’ Ellie Simmonds: Finding My Secret Family (ITV), while Newman has extensive experience as a producer and development producer.

The pair first worked together on Transistor Films’ series I Am A Killer (Netflix) and decided to set up their own outfit in 2023. Read more
