Walter Presents among APC deals
France’s About Premium Content (APC) has struck a raft of sales for its French-language scripted and unscripted series Blue Gold, Seasons and An Artful Imbrolio.
Authentic Prod’s crime drama Blue Gold (8 x 52 minutes), which was produced for France TV, has been sold to Walter Presents (UK & Ireland), RTP (Portugal) and blue Play (Switzerland), joining US streamer MHz Choice.
Relationship drama Seasons (4 x 52 minutes), from Windy Production for Arte, has been picked up by RTP (Portugal) and RTBF Auvio (French-speaking Belgium).
Art investigation documentary An Artful Imbroglio (3 x 30 minutes) - also produced for Arte - has been sold to RTP (Portugal) and Filmin (Spain). The show explores an alleged trafficking of fake old master paintings on an unprecedented scale.
LoveHit unveils vertical & horizontal outfit
LA-based producer Lenny Levi has launched LoveHit, a production banner and vertical drama app that is adapting classic literary titles.
Adaptations of Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, The Great Gatsby and Jane Eyre are among those being produced, with each project written, shot and edited as both a vertical series and a horizontal feature.
Vertical versions - made up of around 50 episodes of between one and three minutes - appear on LoveHit, while the horizontal features run as 90-minute movies and are being sold for traditional distribution, starting with Mipcom in October.
Levi has worked with companies ranging from Sony Pictures Entertainment and CBS Television Studios to Paramount Television Studios and Riot Games during his 15-year career.
Mory Sacko’s Japan trip to land on Disney+
Disney+ is preparing to launch a six-part docuseries tracking the journey of Michelin-starred chef Mory Sacko as he immerses himself in Japanese culture and gastronomy to unlock the secrets of the perfect bento.
Food Samurai - created, directed and produced by Eric Nebot - will be available exclusively on Disney+ in the US and Canada from 30 September.
The show features chef Pierre Gagnaire, writer Chihiro Masui and actor Omar Sy as they shares their perspectives during Sacko’s first-ever journey to Japan.
US-based Eagles Team Entertainment and Cocinor are producing.
