Mediaset buys Eccho drama

Eccho Rights has licensed Turkish comedy-drama My Sweet Lie (aka Benim Tatlı Yalanım) to Mediaset in Italy, where the series premiered on Canale 5 this August.

The drama will also air daily on the broadcaster’s streaming service, Mediaset Infinity.

My Sweet Lie was produced by O3 Medya for Star TV and follows a devoted single father whose small white lie to his young daughter - that her absent mother is away and will one day return - spirals into a life-changing tangle.

YouTube’s Kevin Langue strikes Netflix deal

Netflix is bringing YouTube creator Kevin Langue’s content to the streamer.

Selected shows from his channels, The Kevin Langue Show and Kevin Langue 2 (KL2), will both become available on the streamer from 5 September.

New episodes will drop day-and-date alongside YouTube going forward. Langue’s content features dramatic guessing-game and social-experiment premises filmed with his close-knit circle of friends.

Disney+ orders more Raising Chelsea

Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo’s parenting adventures will be further documented in a second series of Raising Chelsea for Disney+.

Produced by Dorothy St Pictures and Laing’s Jampot Productions, the second run follows the pair as they adapt to family life with son Ziggy, return to work, celebrate occasions and adventures that take them out of Chelsea.

The couple’s mums Penny Baines and Sarah Wigley, Habboo’s sister Georgia and Laing’s friend Oliver Proudlock will return, along with new faces.

Laing and Habboo exec produce, with Rebecca Burrell, Melanie Archer and Julia Nottingham exec producing for Dorothy Street. The series was commissioned by Sean Doyle, vice-president of unscripted, Disney+ EMEA, and Angela Jain, head of content, Disney+ EMEA.
