Care, the BBC's drama about abuse in Welsh children's homes during the 1970s and 1980s won five Bafta Cymru awards on Sunday (24 June). It took the best drama award while Stephen Mackintosh and Maria Pride won best actor and actress awards. Antonia Bird took the award for best director while Kieran Prendiville won best screenwriter. Panorama programme Power of Abuse about child abuse in the Catholic Church was named best current affairs show. S4C's Oscar-nominated film Solomon and Gaenor (above), from September Films and APT Film and Television, won the best film category, while BBC Wales family drama Belonging took best drama series.
