As line producer on last year’s launch series of BBC/NBC mega-format Destination X, Myk Gorse coordinated more than 200 crew members, 45 vehicles and eight countries in just three weeks, checking into a different hotel each night to follow the bus-bound cast to their next mystery stop.
“That’s not just impressive logistics; that’s leadership under pressure at its finest,” says Boldprint Studios head of production Emma Lehrer.
Add in shows like BBC1’s Eurovision Welcomes the World, ITV1’s The Box and ITV2’s Loaded in Paradise, and his international footprint expands to 21 countries.
“Myk makes it all look effortless,” says Lehrer. “He’s the kind of person who creates structure without rigidity, finds solutions without drama, and brings editorial and production teams together with real purpose. He’s meticulous without losing sight of the bigger picture, and collaborative without ever losing momentum.”
Myk has worked in TV for 12 years, building his portfolio with live events including the BBC’s Bafta TV and Film Awards, reality shows like Ex on the Beach, Geordie Shore, Hunted and The Circle, and studio entertainment shows such as Lip Sync Battle UK.
In recent years, he’s stepped up to manage production teams of up to 20 people across several large-budget and highly complex first-series productions, each requiring calm decision-making, adaptability and strong communication skills, often under significant pressure.
“In a fast-moving, high-pressure industry, Myk is exactly the kind of line producer you want in your corner,” says Lehrer. “He doesn’t just deliver ambitious productions; he elevates everyone around him in the process.”
